May 18, the “Tsinghua – ROHM International Forum of Industry – Academia 2018: TRIFIA 2018” was held in the Tsinghua – ROHM Electronic Engineering building.

 

Numerous experts from colleges and industries were invited to participate in the ninth year of the forum. Tsinghua Vice President Wang Xiqin, ROHM’s Director Mr. Yoshiaki Suenaga and Consultant Prof. Hidemi Takasu all gave speeches at the start of the meeting.

 

During the forum, Prof. Li Keqiang, leading expert of China’s intelligent connected vehicle technology and Director of the Tsinghua Research Center for Intelligent Connected Vehicle, Prof. Wang Xiaoqin, renowned scientist in brain science and brain intelligence and Dean of the Dept. of Biomedical Engineering, and Mr. Hisashi Taniguchi Taniguchi, expert in robotics and autopiloting and President and CEO of Japan’s ZMP company, gave reports that were all well received. Several UICC overseas members, including SONY, Samsung and KONE, as well as young scholars from related fields in Beijing also attended the forum. A session dedicated to electronic technology and application was organized to provide R&D support to Chinese industries, in which high-power electronic devices, including SiC and advanced electronic technologies such as wireless communication, wireless charging and vehicular semiconductor were discussed, using ROHM’s products as examples.
