Apr. 25, Vice Director Xie Weihe of Tsinghua University Council paid a visit to Hitachi together with Director Ma Jun of the Overseas R&D Management Office, , where the delegation from Tsinghua met with Hitachi’s R&D Director Suzuki. Dr. Kenichi Funaki, Director of the Customer Collaborative Innovation Department of Hitachi Manufacturing Institute’s R&D Group, gave a detailed introduction to Hitachi’s R&D reform in the past two years, including three innovative systems: basic exploration, technological innovation and customer collaborative innovation. These systems promote customer-oriented R&D, and are aimed at exploring and finding solutions for issues concerning society and customers by working together with customers. The delegation also visited Hitachi’s nursery and elderly care provision facilities. The two parties expressed their hopes to further expand their cooperation on the basis of the present cooperative laboratory.
