On March 4, the steering committee meeting of the Tsinghua-United Technologies Corporation Research Institute for Integrated Building Energy, Safety and Control Systems was held in Tsinghua University. Kang Kejun, Vice President of Tsinghua University and Mr. David Parekh, Vice President of Research for United Technologies Corporation, attended the meeting, together with the other steering committee members. Jiang Yi, academician from the School of Architecture, and the director of the research institute, delivered a working report to summarize the achievements resulting from the joint research projects, and also outlined the plans for research in 2012, which will be the last year of the first five-year cooperation period. Both parties took part in discussions on the potential goals for joint research in a second stage of cooperation.
