Secretary of Party Committee of Tsinghua University, met with the delegation of Purdue University, led by Mr. Tim Sands, Deputy Vice President and Dean of Purdue University. Mr. Shi Zongkai spoke highly of the collaborative results of scientific R&D and academic interchange, and advised that student exchange activities would be favorable. Afterwards, Mr. Sands and his group discussed with Office of Scientific R&D the independent research cooperation and technology transform issues. Then they visited the Foxconn Nano Center on the campus.
In the evening, Mr. Chen Jining, Deputy Vice President of Tsinghua University entertained the guests from Purdue University, and they talked about the development and management issues of an outstanding university.
Renowned for its science, engineering and agriculture, Purdue University is called “Father of Aerospace of the USA ”. Purdue University and Tsinghua University are strategic partners, having a close partnership in scientific collaboration, students fostering and academic exchange, etc.
