On Nov. 26, the 6th Sino-Japan Energy-Efficiency and Environmental Protection Comprehensive Forum was held in the Great Hall of the People. This forum is co-organized by China’s National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Commerce, Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and the Federation of Economic Organizations. Vice Premier Li Keqiang attended the forum and gave an important speech. On this forum were signed 50 Sino-Japan energy efficiency and environmental protection projects. Tsinghua University has signed 5 joint projects (smart grid, railway locomotive power, etc.) with Toshiba and Hitachi. Ms. Ma Jun, Director of Scientific Research Institute Overseas Office, Mr. Cai Ningsheng, Vice Dean of Department of Thermal Engineering, Mr. Saitou, Director of Toshiba R&D Center, and Mr. Tanabe, General Manager of China R&D Company, Hitachi, attended the formal exchange of the agreements.
On Nov. 28, Mr. Jiang Xuepei, Deputy Vice President of Scientific Research Institute had a meeting with Prof. Naoto, Director of Research and Promotion Office of Waseda University. After the mutual introduction of scientific R&D and administration, both sides expressed the wish to establish a long-term cooperative relationship and reinforce scientific R&D collaboration. Also attended the meeting was Ms. Ma Jun, Director of Scientific Research Institute Overseas Office, etc.
