Jan. 18, the 2nd UICC Overseas University-Industry Cooperation Salon was held in Huaye Building, Tsinghua University. Representatives from 14 well-known multinational enterprises attended the meeting.
The UICC (Overseas) holds the university-industry cooperation salon aiming at establishing a platform for the overseas members of UICC to communicate. In this salon, Mrs. Ma Jun, Director of the Overseas R&D Management Office and Deputy Secretary-General, introduced the general situation of the foreign-concerning scientific research of Tsinghua University, the development and achievements of major cooperative projects, as well as the focus of cooperative work in 2011. In 2011, with the opportunity of its Centenary Celebration, carried by UICC, Tsinghua University would strengthen its promotion of foreign-concerning cooperation in multiple ways, continue its cooperation with overseas enterprises, further expand its cooperation, actively participate in bilateral, multilateral technological cooperation, coordinate and connect national scientific technological plans with international technological cooperation, and make full use of international technological cooperative resources. According to specific demands of enterprises, UICC (Overseas)would hold small-scale, pertinent research cooperation symposium focused on those fields that are concerned with partner enterprises, informing the enterprises the development and resources of Tsinghua University in those fields. Meanwhile, Tsinghua University would also promote the effective communication between the university and the enterprises with the establishment of the English website of the Overseas R&D Management Office and in forms such as university-industry cooperation salon.
During the salon, guests from various companies brought up their opinions about their cooperative experiences with universities, discussed the problems in the process, and gave helpful feedbacks and suggestions to the work of UICC (Overseas).
