On April 23rd, the Tsinghua Centenary Celebration Reception for Government Leaders and for Chinese and Overseas Entrepreneurs was held at Hotel New Otani Chang Fu Gong. Over 200 distinguished guests from 16 overseas strategic partner companies and 50 large domestic Chinese companies, as well as leaders and representatives from over 20 provinces, attended the reception.
The event was hosted by the Vice Presidents of Tsinghua University， Qiu Yong. Vice President of Tsinghua University, Kang Kejun first delivered a speech on behalf of Tsinghua, extending a warm welcome to the distinguished guests and alumni for their participation in the Tsinghua Centenary Celebration events and expressed his gratitude for their consistent support to the development of the university.
The distinguished guests expressed their congratulations to Tsinghua University on its centennial anniversary and wished that the relationship with Tsinghua could be strengthened so that their cooperation would achieve even greater successes in the future.
At the reception, local government leaders and representatives from domestic and overseas enterprises were invited to share their experience on their cooperation with Tsinghua University. Dr. Reinhold Achatz, Global Vice President of Siemens AG and Advisory Professor of Tsinghua, gave an outline of the Center of Knowledge Interchange (CKI) in Tsinghua, set up in 2008, and which is the top level of cooperation between Siemens and universities. He also described the achievements in research collaboration and talent cultivation in their cooperation with Tsinghua.
The reception, being one of the important events of Tsinghua Centenary Celebration, was organized by the University-Industry Cooperation Committee (UICC), the School of Continuing Education, and the Career Center of Tsinghua University
