201106-Annual Meeting of Tsinghua–MHI R&D Center Held

From May 5th to 6th, the annual meeting of the Tsinghua – MHI R&D Center was held in Tsinghua University. Nearly 90 experts from six research centers of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), together with over a hundred faculty and students from Tsinghua University, attended the meeting.
 
In the afternoon of May 5th, the steering committee meeting of Tsinghua-MHI R&D Center was held. Kang Kejun, Vice President of Tsinghua University and Yosiaki Tukuda, Vice President of MHI attended the meeting, where they listened to the summary report from the directors of the R&D Center. In 2010, Tsinghua and MHI conducted 75 joint research projects in fields such as energy, fluids, heat transfer, materials, machining, electronics and architecture. Faculty members from 15 Departments and Schools, including the Departments of Materials Science and Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Automation, and Chemistry, and the School of Aerospace, have undertaken joint research projects. The steering committee members acknowledged the cooperation achievements and exchanged opinions concerning future cooperation between the two partners.
 
At the meeting on May 6th, project investigators reported their progress on joint research projects and discussed key technological issues related to the projects.
