On September 10 Tsinghua University signed an agreement with Sony to focus on collaboration in the area of image processing. The Institute of Image and Graphic of the department of Electronic Engineering at Tsinghua University, has extensive experience in digital image processing, while Sony is one of the largest companies engaging in R&D and manufacturing of digital image related products in the world. Based on the successful cooperation of previous three terms, both Sony and Tsinghua expect to maintain strategic partnership and deepen their cooperation. Ma Jun, Director of Overseas R&D Management Office at Tsinghua University, and Tadafusa Tomitaka, Head of the Sony-China Research Laboratory, signed the agreement on behalf of each party.
