On September 28 the second steering committee meeting of the Tsinghua – Rohm Joint Research Center was held at Tsinghua University. Committee members including Hidemi Takasu (Managing Director of Rohm), Chen Xu (Vice President of Tsinghua University), Jiang Peixue (Executive Deputy Director of Office of Scientific R&D), Wang Xiqin (Head of the Department of Electronic Engineering), and Ma Jun (Director of the Overseas R&D Management Office of Tsinghua University) attended the meeting. At the meeting Rohm representatives reported the status both of proposal calls for 2010, and of the LSI collaborative project. The steering committee discussed the operation pattern and financing of the center, and agreed on the details for the inauguration ceremony of the Department of Electronic Engineering Building, which was donated by Rohm. Ma Jun gave an introduction to the university’s policy on budgeting of research funds and on the management of expenses.
