From May 27 to May 28, a delegation from Tsinghua University led by Vice President Kang Kejun took part in the first meeting of the Sixth Council Meeting of the International Strategic Technology Alliance (ISTA), held in Shanghai Jiao Tong University. With the support from Ministry of Education, ISTA was founded in 1995. It provides an open platform for the exchange of best practices and enhances international networking and collaboration of the members. Currently, 24 renowned universities and institutions around the world are members of ISTA.
Representatives from member universities discussed issues relating to revision of ISTA regulations, the development of ISTA, and international science and technology exchange activities. They also approved the application of Tsinghua University to host the second meeting of the Sixth Council Meeting in 2011.
